The 101 is the new PDA phone in i-mate’s JAMA series. Just like other devices in the range, the JAMA 101 has a wide screen for documents viewing. The 2.4 inches screen is not large enough when compared to other PDAs, but still looks allright. As there is no QWERTY keyboard, now you can use the 4-way navigation pad or your own fingers to figure out everything.
Below the screen is some dedicated key buttons which are end call, calling and the OK button. The phone supports the polyphonic and MP3 for your ringtones. People with lots of friends may be happy as the entries or contacts no. are all practically unlimited in the built in phonebook. Same as the call records, they are not limited.
Based on the Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional, the device has the smooth performance that is assured by the 300 MHz Samsung SC32442X processor and the 64 MB RAM plus 128 MB ROM.
The JAMA 101 supports the GPRS class 10, EDGE, miniUSB, Bluetooth with A2DP and a 2 MP camera. Our old friends like the Pocket Office, JAVA and Windows Media player are all in this device too!
But the weakness of the phone should be its battery. The fitted battery only can provide approximately 4 hours worth of talk time and 150 hours of standy time. However, if you forget about the poor battery life, the overall look the i-mate JAMA 101 is still good and impressive.
