W380 is one of the few clamshell form factor devices that SOny Ericsson currently produces. In terms of hardware, this triband GSM/EDGE/GPRS handset has a nice and rich features.
Come as no surprise, Sony Ericsson W380 is a music phone if you know what ‘W’ stands for-Walkman. Yeah, it is another Walkman phone announced by Sony Ericsson, but different from other W-series phone, its design is rare-clamshell. With an attractive shape and Sony Ericsson’s thoughtful user interface, the W380 appears to have what it takes to be a standout handset in a crowded market.

The W380 is a moderately sized phone. It weighs just a hair over 100 gram and measures at 92 x 49 x 16 mm. That’s quite a compact size.
The 1.9 inch 256K colour TFT internal display, though small, is pretty bright and is generally readable in all lightning conditions. The phone is now available in two eye-catching colour which are Electric Purple and Magnetic Grey (Purple is my favourite colour anyway).
Besides, an external OLED display comes with a resolution of 36 x 128 pixels. In this way, you will forward, rewind and know which the song is playing without looking at the internal display.
As we’ve come to know with Sony-branded MP3 players, in terms of sound quality, the W380 is at the top of its class. As with most Sony Ericsson phones, the camera — 1.3-megapixel on the W380 is housed on the back with the shortcut key on the right edge of the handset so taking photos with the screen acting as a viewfinder feels akin to a digital camera.
Additional features such as the Bluetooth wireless technology, USB version 2, FM radio are also added to this brilliant device. Probably the most interesting thing is the new added gesture control. This allows you, the phone’s user to manage calls, shuffle playist or even snooze to act as an alarm to wake you up.
If you like to have a fashion music focused phone, Sony Ericsson W380 could be one of your considered phone.
